Join us in experiencing the tranquillity and beauty of a Garden in the midst of a bustling city.
Contemplate life over traditional Chinese finger food and a range of beverages from our Tea House and leave with authentic mementos from our Gift Shop.
The Scholars Garden is an integral part of Chinese philosophy and culture and has been transported in its original form from Shanghai where the City of Dunedin enjoys a strong sister city relationship. It commemorates Dunedin and Otago's Chinese heritage dating back to the Goldrush days of the 1860's and is a wonderful addition to the heritage and culture of the city.
